Car Insurance GMC (Car Insurance). I need advice please!!!!!!!?I need advice please!!!!!!!? I currently have a 1994 2WD toyota pick up truck with 180,000 miles on it. I want to sell it for 3,800 because it's a gas guzzler. Do you think this kind of truck will sell rather fast or will it take a lot of time. Once I have the money I want to buy A 95-98 Chevy S-10 4 cylinder truck. Do you think it will be hard to find a truck like that? I am asking these questions because I have a landscaping company and I can't afford to waste much time selling my toyota and buying another truck? With that age, and those miles, you'll likely have to give it away. get a new one Auto parts : Vise Jaw Pads Acura 1995 . Visor Light Kit Alfa Romeo 1996 . Wall Sign Audi 1997 . I have a 525 HP Boss 351 Cleveland swapped into an '86 Thunderbird. The engine idles at 1,400 RPM with about 6-6.5" of vacuum. The cam is a Cam Dynamics grind with 266/276 @ .050 and .616/.642 lift on 108 centers.....(maybe 106's... I used to run this motor with a "Glide and a brake.) Anyhow, even with 5/16th's holes drilled in the primary throttle blades and the idle mixture screws backed out 6 turns (there's no screw left in the fuel passageway!! The 8itch is free-flowing idle fuel!!) it wants more idle fuel. I'm thinking of borrowing a primary metering block from one of the 600's on my tunnel ram set-up, and using it as a secondary metering block in the back of the 750. Within the past six weeks, my car (a 2003 Dodge Neon with 78,800 miles) has been in the shop five times. I've had the rack and pinion replaced and two new tires. Then a new transmission (twice), rear brakes and most recently, something in the cooling system (fans, a fuse and air conditioner recharging). Out of the last 46 days, it's been in the shop 24. The transmission was under warranty, but the rack and pinion, tires, rear brakes and the cooling system problems were out of pocket, costing $1040, 570 and 670, respectively. If something else were to go wrong within the next few months, I could not afford to repair it. The solution to my problem would be easy if I did not still have 2 1/2 years left to pay off a 4-year loan. Without looking it up, I couldn't tell you exactly how much I owe at this point, but I'm probably upside down on the loan. In my situation, does it make sense to keep driving it and fixing it as long as possible, or trading it in and rolling it into a loan for another car? car insurance. GMC . How to Change Brake Rotors in a FalconThere are no new Ford Falcons rolling off the assembly line, so if you're a fan of this make, you've got to treat yours with the utmost care. An important part of maintenance involves checking the brake rotors periodically for pitting or cracking. When the rotors start looking worse for wear, it's time for replacement. Fortunately, this is a relatively fast and easy process that requires only the most basic tools. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Four replacement rotors designed for your model year of the Falcon Wheel chocks Floor jack 2 jack stands Tire iron Socket wrench Twine, wire or twist ties Step by Step : 1 Park your Falcon on a level surface and put it in park, but do not apply the parking brake. Make sure the steering column is not locked. 2 Slide wheel chocks behind each of the two front tires. 3 Slide a floor jack under the rear end of the car, directly beneath a solid part of the frame. Pump the jack handle until the rear end of the car is up high enough for you to be able to put two jack stands underneath. 4 Put a jack stand under each side of the rear end of the car, making sure they're positioned beneath solid sections of the frame. When the stands are in place, gently release the pressure on the jack until the car comes to rest on the stands. Pull the jack out from under the car. 5 Use a tire iron to remove all of the lug nuts from each of the two rear wheels, then pull the wheels off and set them aside. 6 Locate the two large bolts on the back side of each rear brake caliper. Use a socket wrench to remove these bolts, but do not pull the calipers off of the caliper mounts immediately. 7 Get some twine, wire, twist ties or some other binding material. One at a time, lift each caliper off of the caliper mount and temporarily attach it to an exposed part of the undercarriage using your binding material. This is just to make sure that the caliper does not dangle by the brake line, which can cause brake line damage and subsequent failure. 8 Pull both brake pads out of each of the two rear caliper mounts. 9 Use a socket wrench to remove the two bolts holding each of the rear caliper mounts to the rear rotors. Set these bolts and the caliper mounts aside. Step by Step : 10 Pull both of the old rotors off of the wheel spindles. Step by Step : 11 Slide the new rotors onto the rear wheel spindles. Step by Step : 12 Reattach the brake caliper mounts to the new rotors using the original bolts. Install them in the same approximate location where they were installed on the old rotors. Step by Step : 13 Slide the brake pads back into the slots on both rear caliper mounts. If you're switching to new pads at this time, use the new ones instead. Step by Step : 14 Untie each dangling caliper one at a time and place it over the caliper mount, then install and tighten the two bolts on the back side. Step by Step : 15 Reinstall both rear wheels by sliding them onto the wheel spindles and tightening down all of the original lug nuts with a tire iron. Step by Step : 16 Slide the floor jack back under a solid part of the rear frame and jack it up to about one inch above the jack stands. Reach under the car to pull out the jack stands, then carefully lower the Falcon all the way to the ground. Step by Step : 17 Move the wheel chocks to the rear tires and repeat this entire process on the front end of the car.
GMC . How to Change Rotors on a Chrysler PT CruiserThe rotors on the Chrysler PT Cruiser need to be in good condition for the brakes to work properly. The brake calipers rest on the rotors and are what the brake pads clamp onto to stop the car. If the rotors have grooves dug into them from bad brakes or any other damage, they need to be refinished or replaced completely. Given that brake pads need to be changed as a set, it's likely that if the rotor on one side needs changing, so does the other. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Jack stands Lug wrench Brake cleaner and drain pan Ratchet wrench Wire Sandpaper/emory cloth Step by Step : 1 Raise the end of the PT Cruiser that you're changing the rotors for on jack stands and remove the wheels. It helps to loosen the lug nuts with the wrench before raising the car. If you're raising the rear end, release the parking brake. 2 Prepare the brake caliper on the rotor for removal. Clean it with a brake cleaner spray, using a drain pan to catch the residue--never use compressed air. Retract the caliper piston into its bore with a C-clamp. Siphon out fluid from the master cylinder if needed, to prevent overflow. 3 Disconnect the brake caliper and its mounting bracket (front rotors only) from the rotor by removing the mounting bolts with a ratchet wrench. Hang the caliper somewhere secure with a strong wire. Don't hang the caliper by its hose, and don't disconnect the hose (or you'll have to bleed the system later). 4 Remove the rotor from the hub. If the rotor is stuck to the hub, insert two bolts into the threaded holes on the rotor and tighten them to force the rotor off the hub. 5 Take the rotor to an automotive machine shop to have it refinished if possible. The rotor cannot be finished down to less than the minimum thickness stated on the inside of the rotor. Use a micrometer to check the rotor's thickness. 6 Wipe away any glaze on the rotor (especially a new one) by rubbing it with an emory cloth or sandpaper, using swirling motions. 7 Place the new or refinished rotor back over the wheel studs on the hub; use the wheel lug nuts to temporarily keep it in place. Reconnect the brake caliper to the rotor, remove the lug nuts, then reconnect the wheel and lower the car. 8 Pump the Cruiser's brake pedal multiple times to make sure the brake pads are properly seated on the rotor. *move into lower gears in certain circumstances. But instead of a manual clutch, an automatic transmission uses a torque converter and hydraulic pressure to change gears automatically. The torque converter replaces the standard transmission's clutch. The torque converter is a fluid coupling that transfers power from the engine to the transmission input shaft. It allows for smooth transfer of power and at highway speeds can be locked up to reduce slippage and improve fuel economy. Shifting in an automatic transmission is controlled by either a hydraulic system or an electronic system. Hydraulically controlled transmissions con sist of an intricate network of valves and other components along with hydraulic pressure to control the operation of planetary gearsets (see Figure 9-6). These gearsets can be fashioned to generate three, four, or five forward speeds. 421

As the engine speed changes, the pump that pumps the transmission fluid to develop hydraulic pressure also changes speed. The transmission fluid responds to the changes in pressure by flowing through the transmission at different rates. When the car is moving slowly, the pressure is low, and only the low gears respond. In Drive, as the car's speed increases, so does the pressure, and higher gears are brought into play. The hydraulic pressure drives the transmission gears by means of friction bands and plates. These bands and plates do the same thing that the clutch on a manual transmission does — they pull various gears into and out of action. When mechanics tell you that your bands need adjusting, these are the bands they're talking about. They can usually make this adjustment without taking the transmission apart.
